中共中央政治局10月24日下午就区块链技术发展现状和趋势进行第十八次集体学习。中共中央总书记习近平在主持学习时强调，区块链技术的集成应用在新的技术革新和产业变革中起着重要作用，要加快推动区块链技术和产业创新发展。

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has underscored the important role of blockchain technology in the new round of technological innovation and industrial transformation, urging more efforts to quicken the development in the sector. Xi made the remarks Thursday while presiding over a group study session of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau on the development and trend of blockchain technology.

为了不断解放和发展社会生产力，推动高质量发展，国务院于10月23日公布《优化营商环境条例》。《条例》对标国际先进水平，为各类市场主体投资兴业营造稳定、公平、透明、可预期的良好环境。

The State Council on Wednesday made public a regulation on optimizing the business environment in the latest step to unleash and develop productive forces and advance high-quality development. Aligning with advanced international levels, the regulation specifies the principles and directions for fostering a stable, fair, transparent and predictable business environment.

营商环境只有更好，没有最好。各国都应该努力改进自己的营商环境，解决自身存在的问题，不能总是粉饰自己、指责他人，不能像手电筒那样只照他人、不照自己。

Improvement of the business environment is an on-going process, and there is always room for things to become better. Countries need to improve their business environment by addressing their problems. They should not just point fingers at others to gloss over their own problems. They should not hold a “flashlight” in hand doing nothing but to check out on the weakness of others and not on their own.

2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

首届可持续发展论坛10月24日在北京召开。该论坛由国务院发展研究中心会同北京市政府、联合国有关机构共同举办，将探讨各方落实2030年可持续发展议程行动和经验。

The first sustainable development forum opened Thursday in Beijing. The forum, co-organized by the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Beijing Municipal Government and relevant organizations of the United Nations, aims to explore the actions and experiences of relevant parties in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

全国中医药大会10月25日在北京召开。国家主席习近平对中医药工作作出重要指示，他指出，中医药学包含着中华民族几千年的健康养生理念及其实践经验，是中华文明的一个瑰宝。习近平强调，要传承精华，守正创新，加快推进中医药现代化、产业化，坚持中西医并重，推动中医药和西医药相互补充、协调发展，充分发挥中医药防病治病的独特优势和作用，为建设健康中国贡献力量。

President Xi Jinping called for the unique role of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in disease prevention and treatment to come into full play and allow it to contribute to the building of a healthier nation. Xi said in an instruction that TCM contains the nation's ideas and experience in healthcare spanning millennia and is a treasure of Chinese civilization. China should carry on the essence of TCM while pursuing innovations in the field, Xi stressed, adding that it should speed up the modernization and industrialization of TCM. Equal importance should be placed on both TCM and Western medicine. Let them complement each other and develop in a coordinated manner, he said. Xi's instruction was delivered at a national TCM conference on Friday in Beijing.

近期，中央农办、农业农村部等11个部门共同印发《关于进一步推进移风易俗 建设文明乡风的指导意见》，发布会于10月29日举行。

Chinese authorities have released a guideline on efforts to further eliminate outmoded customs and promote social civility in rural areas. Jointly issued by the Office of the Central Rural Work Leading Group, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and nine other departments, the guideline was unveiled at a press conference Tuesday.

指导意见提出，争取通过3到5年的努力，文明乡风管理机制和工作制度基本健全，农村陈规陋习蔓延势头得到有效遏制，婚事新办、丧事简办、孝亲敬老等社会风尚更加浓厚，农民人情支出负担明显减轻，乡村社会文明程度进一步提高。

It is expected that within three to five years, sound management and working systems for rural civility will be set up across the country, a more civilized society will be established in rural areas. The spread of outdated practices and customs will be effectively controlled, new practices such as frugality in weddings or funerals and respecting elders will be more prominent in rural areas, and rural residents' expenditures on interpersonal relations will be greatly reduced, according to the guideline.
