2019年11月18日，世界媒体峰会第四次主席团会议在上海举行，会后发表共识。

The World Media Summit presidium has issued consensus reached by delegates at the presidium's fourth meeting, which was held in Shanghai on Monday.

共识说，媒体应当履行社会责任，坚持新闻报道真实性原则，为受众提供全面、准确、客观、公正的信息，及时澄清虚假信息，共同抵制假新闻，共同维护媒体的权威性和公信力。

"To ensure the authority and credibility of media are upheld, media should fulfill their social responsibility, ensure what is reported is factual and accurate and provide their audience with comprehensive, objective and impartial information. False information should be clarified without delay; and fake news should be boycotted by all," wrote the consensus.

高度重视传播手段建设和创新，提高新闻舆论传播力、引导力、影响力、公信力。加强互联网内容建设，建立网络综合治理体系，营造清朗的网络空间。

We will give priority to improving means of communication and to creating new ones, and will strengthen the penetration, guidance, influence, and credibility of the media. We will provide more and better online content and put in place a system for integrated internet management to ensure a clean cyberspace.

China-Japan high-level consultation mechanism on people-to-people exchanges

11月25日，国家主席习近平和日本首相安倍晋三分别致信祝贺中日高级别人文交流磋商机制首次会议在东京召开。习近平强调，当前，中日关系持续改善向好。希望中日双方共同利用好这一机制，推动人文交流，促进民心相通，为构建和发展契合新时代要求的中日关系提供人文支撑。

President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent congratulatory letters Monday on the first meeting of the China-Japan high-level consultation mechanism on people-to-people and cultural exchanges in Tokyo. Xi stressed that currently, China-Japan relations have been continuously improving. He said he hopes China and Japan can make good use of the mechanism to promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges and foster better understanding between their people, so as to provide cultural and popular support for the building and development of China-Japan relations that fit the needs of the new era.

中国日报网近日，中共中央办公厅、国务院办公厅印发了《关于强化知识产权保护的意见》（以下简称《意见》），指出加强知识产权保护，是完善产权保护制度最重要的内容，也是提高我国经济竞争力的最大激励。

The general offices of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council have jointly issued a directive calling for intensified protection of intellectual property rights (IPR). "Strengthening IPR protection is the most important content of improving the IPR protection system and also the biggest incentive to boost China's economic competitiveness," reads the document.

The 11th meeting of the central committee for deepening overall reform demanded efforts to remove institutional obstacles that impede free flows of factors and secure the market-based allocation in order to provide an institutional foundation for promoting high-quality growth and building a modern economic system.

President Xi Jinping on Wednesday attended the opening of a training session for heads of military academies and schools at the National Defense University of the People's Liberation Army. On behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission, Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, extended greetings to the heads of military academies and schools as well as those working in the military education field.

成都、杭州、宁波、西安、广州等十个城市被选为“2019中国最具幸福感城市”。教育、就业、收入、社会福利、医疗、居住条件以及环境等与人民幸福感相关的领域，也是此次评选的关键指标。

Ten cities including Chengdu, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Xi'an and Guangzhou, have been listed as the happiest cities in China this year. Education, employment, income, social welfare, healthcare, living conditions, and environment all concern the people's sense of happiness and they are the key criteria in making the list.

I am aware of the people's biggest concerns, such as education, employment, income, social security, healthcare, old-age security, housing and the environment. Though progress has been made, issues of public concern remain. Our efforts at improving people's well-being have not always been satisfactory. That is why we should strengthen our sense of responsibility, and do a good job of ensuring the people's well-being. The Party committees, governments, and officials at all levels must constantly hold in their hearts the interests and concerns of the people, and regard the benefit of the people as their greatest political achievement; they must think for the people, respond to their needs, and work for the greater happiness of the people.

国家发展改革委日前印发《生态综合补偿试点方案》，将在50个试点县开展生态综合补偿工作，以更好地平衡经济发展和环境保护。按照《方案》，到2022年，生态保护者的主动参与度明显提升，与地方经济发展水平相适应的生态保护补偿机制基本建立。

China will pilot a comprehensive ecological compensation mechanism in 50 county-level areas to better balance economic development and environmental protection, according to a plan released by the National Development and Reform Commission. The pilot program aims to establish an ecological compensation mechanism that substantially boosts voluntary protection and suits local economic development levels by 2022.
